Sponsorship Request for 2005

The ISPA is appealing to you to give consideration to sponsoring teacher(s) for 2005, as part of the association's ongoing training initiative.

Attendees at last year's iWeek will be aware that Tiscali and MTN Network Solutions each sponsored a teacher to attend a beginner's course during 2004.

Thanks to UniForum's generous financial support, ISPA's social development programme was able to provide week-long computer courses to 176 teachers during 2004. This training has had a very real impact on the lives of the participating teachers and on their learners. In many cases, the teachers run after-hours classes for other teachers and students at their schools, as well as for their local communities, passing on the skills they have acquired even further.

ISPA's Socdev team is busy planning the training programme for 2005 and we are pleased to be able to announce that UniForum has committed to providing sufficient funding for the 2005 program in order to train another 150 teachers.

We would like to extend this successful initiative even further and are once again appealing to the ISPA members to agree to each sponsor additional teachers.

The minimum cost per teacher for a week of training is R2000 and includes transportation to and from the centre, meals, the training venue, a printed training manual, certificates and the trainer's time.

If each ISPA member sponsors just one teacher, this will enable us to train more than 60 additional teachers. We believe that this will have a positive impact on far more than 60 lives, and, ultimately create future customers for all of us.

ISPA members sponsoring teachers will be recognised in all public relations material and mentioned in any press releases published with regard to the training programme. We encourage ISPA members to include their participation in this important social responsibility programme in their marketing material. You will also receive a formal letter of thanks from ISPA.

If your organisation is interested in providing support, please get in touch with the ISPA Secretariat at or call Tinka Saunders on 011 742 1310.

We look forward to your response.

ISPA's Socdev team.
