Background
The Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) currently operates one Internet exchange point, namely the Johannesburg Internet exchange (JINX). A Cape Town Internet exchange (CINX) is in the process of being set up and will be launched shortly. Internet exchanges (INXes) provide a mechanism for ISPA's members to interconnect their networks and exchange traffic. The exchanges encourage the local routing of Internet traffic not destined for international locations.
