Internet Service Providers' Association

Tertiary Education Network (TENET, for short) is incorporated under Section 21 of the Companies Act. Its eight members represent the Thirty-six public universities and technikons in South Africa. The main object of the Company is to secure for the benefit of these institutions, internet and information technology services, involving, inter alia the management of contracts with Telkom and other Service Providers, ancillary operational functions in support of service delivery, including the administration of the ac.za domain and of various tracts of Internet address space that were historically assigned to the UNINET Project; and the provision of other value-added services as may from time to time be needed in support of the higher educational sector in South Africa.
